About Banked Slalom

Banked slalom is a snowboarding discipline, which combines the roots of snowboarding, surfing and skateboarding. Banked slalom is a great way to bring attention to the sport of snowboarding and help increase participation. From the media to new consumers: it is an all-ages discipline, a low risk sport and people have a lot of fun competing in contests that do not require professional skills.
The WSF Banked Slalom Tour is very lifestyle focused and brings with it a philosophy of participation over fierce competition. Thanks to the type of event that the Banked Slalom is, this is and has always been the right place to bring families and generations together, to compete and have fun together, no matter the age, the gender, the skills, the level and the ability.
The WSF Banked Slalom Tour offers a platform and network within currently existing events and supports to help create new events.

How to become a part of the WSF Banked Slalom Tour 2024/25 – Register your event now!

WSF invites all national associations that have existing banked slalom contests to be part of the tour and fill out the application form (find link below) to participate.

WSF also invites all of you to organize a banked slalom contest and get support from us on how to do it. WSF will provide technical support to those who have never organized a banked slalom event as well as PR & communication support for all WSF Banked Slalom Tour events planned for the season 2024/25.

In order to be part of the WSF Banked Slalom Tour, each event organizer will be asked for a 25 euros event fee for WSF members and 50 euros event fee for non-WSF members. The fee will be used to run and promote the WSF Banked Slalom Tour and will allow WSF to promote, communicate and support WSF member events. Please note it’s not mandatory to be a WSF member to register a Banked Slalom event, as the goal is to unite as many events as possible on the tour.

The vision is to create events which allow riders of all levels to participate. In order to bring more people into the sport, we decided to start with a very easy concept, combining athletic performance with fun.

There are many existing banked slalom events world wide. The WSF tour concept is to offer a platform and network within currently existing events, bringing more attention to banked slalom, as well as the individual events.

The podium winners (female and male) from all tour stops will participate in a ruffle. The ruffle will be conducted through online video at the end of the season (beginning of next season). Through the ruffle, grand prize will be an invitation to the Legendary Mount Baker Banked Slalom. Additional prizes will be given to ruffle participants, such as t shirts and accessories.

Event organizers can fill out the attached application form to participate. The WSF banked slalom committee will approve the application within two weeks of submission.
