Each year more than 1,400 snowboarders will arrive at the annual United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA) National Championships, the World’s Largest Snowboard Event.

This year’s event will be held at Copper Mountain in Colorado. Both snowboarders and freeeskiers will compete against the top amateur and pro snowboarders in the country. From the beginning of the 2009-2010 seasons, the competitors will try to qualify through their local USASA Regional Series for an invitation to the grand finale of snowboarding events. The competitions kick-off on Sunday, April 4, 2010 and continue through Friday, April 9, 2010. The athletes will compete in five events including; Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Boardercross, Giant Slalom and Slalom. Riders between the ages of 5 and 70 are set to compete in 34 divisions to win more than 840 medals.

This season will mark the first time the Open Class Division is a 4 Star TTR (Ticket To Ride) event (2008, 2009 3 Star). Male and Female competitors will be vying for
