Snow Sports New Zealand in conjunction with Adaptive Snow Sports NZ and the NZ SnowboardingUnion warmly invite international adaptive snowboard Snowboardcross racers to come to ride and compete at the 2009 WSF Adaptive Snowboard World Championships in New Zealand in July.
Cardrona Alpine Resort will generously host this event. www.cardrona.com The WSF Adaptive Snowboard World Championship sling-shot Snowboardcross race will be held as part of the 2009 NZ Adaptive Snow Sports Festival and National Championships 26-31 July 2009 @ Cardrona Alpine Resort. We invite you to attend the entire Festival, or the World Championship days 28-30 July.

The NZ Snowboarding crew is excited to welcome international riders over to our patch to ride and compete, and all are involved to make this an awesome event. An Adaptive Snowboard clinic will be held over three days prior to the World Championships, with access to race in the NZ National Championships.An adaptive snowboard classification workshop will also be run if demand. All athletes will be classified prior to the race under the rules set out by the WSF Adaptive Snowboard Classification sub committee.

An action packed week, the Adaptive Snow Sports Festival gives participants with a disability the chance to have fun with fellow skiers and boarders from around the country and overseas, improve skills, compete, explore new terrain and enjoy the après board! Bring your friends and family along. All are welcome to join in the fun. The WSF Adaptive Snowboard World Championship and clinics will be run in conjunction with the Festival.

Cardrona Disabled New Zealand National Championships
The National Championships, sponsored by Cardrona, include both ski and snowboard races at social and elite levels. Alpine Races will be held from 27 – 29 July, including Slalom and GS snowboard races. The exact running order is weather dependant and the final race schedule will be available at registration.

Elite Races
Elite races are run to a high standard (races are not ASD certified). Entry is open to national team members, international elite competitors, and advanced recreational skiers at the discretion of the event organisers.

Advanced Adaptive Snowboard Clinic
A series of clinics will be available to you under the guidance of NZ’s top snowboard coaches – run by Snow Sports NZ Coaching Director, Adam Dooney with Cardrona HPC coaches, NZ Adaptive Snowboard Coach, Carl Gerrard, with NZ WPP Head Snowboard Coach, Tom Willmott and Snowboarding Coach Michael Bell. International coaches are welcome to join in.

? Monday – Riding Clinic – Prepare to race, GS, Slalom, SnowboardX
? Tuesday – GS clinic, GS National Championship race, afternoon clinic.
