Out with a BANG: Scharnitz Hosts This Summer’s Must-See Snowboard Youth Event

Once again, Snowboard Germany and the Snowgau Freestyle Team are teaming up to host the summer contest for all up-and-coming snowboarders: On July 20, 2025, the Summer Bang will take place for the sixth time at Banger Park in Scharnitz, Austria, as part of the Junior Freestyle Tour.

Cool Tricks and Big Air
Together with the Snowgau Freestyle Team, Snowboard Germany is bringing the Junior Freestyle Tour Summer Bang to the Austrian town of Scharnitz.

On Sunday, July 20, 2025, the competition will run in the unique SKOLF format. Riders will be judged in four categories:

 

• U11 (born 2015 and later)
• U13 (2014–2013)
• U15 (2012–2011)
• Open (2010 and older)

At the national training center in Berchtesgaden, preparations are already in full swing for the next summer stop of the Junior Freestyle Tour — now featuring a brand-new landing bag.

What the SKOLF?!

Never heard of it? SKOLF is a mash-up of “Game of S.K.A.T.E.” and golf. Here’s how it works: Participants must land predetermined tricks — on both snowboards and jib boards — in as few attempts as possible. To do so, Banger Park in Scharnitz offers two differently sized landing bags and a jib area. Most of the action will take place on the landing bags: think airtime and progression!

As in previous years, the Snowgau Freestyle Team from Oberammergau is playing a key role in organizing the event and will once again be providing food, drinks, and good vibes for riders and spectators alike.
