Billabong Flaunt It - Jenna Blasmann Wins On A Big White Day

The third stop of the Flaunt It tour arrived at Big White, BC this past Saturday to another sold out stop with inclement weather.

The day began with a fog ridden rail jam on a down-flat-down and a flat rail. First place went to local Big White rider Stephanie Haines with a switch boardslide. Second place went to Quebec’s Cynthia Brassard, with Ontario’s Jenna Blasman rounding out the top three.

Mother Nature cooperated in the afternoon though, with the fog rolling out just in time for the slopestyle event. Jenna Blasman from Ontario travelled to Big White with a successful attempt to secure her spot in the Flaunt It Finals at Sierra-at-Tahoe. Blasman threw down a winning run consisting of a lipslide 270 out on the tube, frontside 5 indy to a solid cab 5, and finished off her run with a 50/50 on the down flat down. Two-time defending champ Stephanie Haines came in second, with Zuzy Rocka from Sun Peaks coming in third place.

Fourteen year old Becky Menday came all the way from Great Britain to compete in Flaunt It. Menday, accustomed to dome riding back at home was able to take her stylish tricks to the great outdoors taking home the Nixon Style award. Blasman’s frontside 540 indy landed her the Dakine Best Trick, and Heather Munday earned the VonZipper Ragdoll award with her epic rail bails all day long.

Billabong Flaunt It is proudly supported by VonZipper, Dakine, Nixon, Snowboard Canada Women’s Annual, and Snowboarder Magazine.
