Latvian Champions Were Crowned at Ride In Baltics Tour

This was the Monster Energy Ride in Baltics Tour’13 Stop4: Record number of participants, largest ever cash prizes, World Snowboard Tour 2star event, „trick for cash” and the first ever Latvian Freeski Slopestyle Championship.

For many riders, the weekend in Ventspils started already on Friday shredding the park. But on Saturday morning, the registration line was almost through the door of cousy cafe at „Lemberga hute” ski resort while more than 100 riders were ready to start the slopestyle competition.

Girls-snowboarders dropped in first showing nice styles and different tricks on kickers and rails. Karina Vitina, LAT got the first place in the rail qualification with a smooth run and kept it through out the finals getting valuable cash prizes from A.Lembergs and was crowned with the Latvian Champion title.

Kids and junior groups showed better and better tricks as the competition was going on and rankings went back and forth during the finals, but in the end the best ones won: Hendrik Kraav, EST, in kids group stepped up to 1st place leaving behind Kaur Piirsalu, EST on 2nd and Motiejus Morauskas, LTU on 3rd place. The junior group victory and Latvian Champion title went to Edgars Kaupers, LAT.

Without surprises in the Snowboard Men Open group, Indrek Tamm, EST was in the lead from the beginning of the qualifications again and won the Monster Energy Ride in Baltics Tour`13 stop for the 4th! The Snowboard Men Pro group finals as qualification runs were really intense for many riders, however Toms Petrusevics, LAT stomped all his tricks taking home the title as „Latvian Champion” and 300Ls cash prize.

After the finals, the „Best Trick Contest” was on offering riders to win 200Ls cash prize from A.Lembergs for the best performance! Valters Osnieks, LAT landed the best trick – sw bs9 in the very first minutes of the competition and no one could beat him afterwards.

The „AERODIUM Fly High” contest winner for the highest air was Janis Sarans, LAT who was chosen by judges in the finals. Congratulations!
