LNSA Slopestyle Cup

The LNSA Slopestyle Cup was the last slopestyle competition in Monster Energy Ride in Baltics Tour`13 this season. Amazing weather, river jumps, „Harlem shake” video made the competition to a great snowboard day.

„Awesome day, awesome riders in an awesome park with awesome partners – Lithuanian National Ski Association and Boardsports shop! These are only a few words that express a great Saturday in the brand new snowpark in Kalita resort, Anykščiai city, LTU!” said Janis Jansons, founder of the Ride in Baltics tour.

Almost 60 riders from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania met again this weekend in Kalita snowpark, Lithuania for the Monster Energy Ride in Baltics Tour`13 Stop7 „LNSA Slopestyle Cup”. The Snowpark shaped by Baltic Snowpark Agency was done to its perfection one day before, but unfortunately, the weather changed and the snowpark was frozen the next morning. The Icy snowpark then became the biggest challenge for the riders. They had to be more careful and show tricks they know very well.

After a long warm up, riders showed their best during qualification runs stomping nice tricks all over the park obstacles. In the finals, many good riders bailed, because of the icy landings. That made the seconds even more important… The best snowboarders that day were Rimgaile Savickaite LTU, Hendrik Kraav EST, Arturs Vasarajs LAT, Aidas Kukenys LTU, Toms Petrusevics LAT.

The „AERODIUM Fly High” contest prize – free flight in AERODIUM – went to the junior group winner Arturs Vasarajs, LAT, reaching 3.90m hight over the big kicker! Well done!

Later, super fun action went down on a river Jump, where riders jumped over a 5 m wide river! The sensation of the day was the 7 years old kid – Liudas Kuprys LTU – also jumped over river taking full speed from the top of the park. Keeping him motivated to snowboarding, he received a UNIQ beanie for further motivation!

The greatest thanks go to the Lithuanian National Skiing Association, Boardsports and Kalita resort for making this event happen!
