EVENT TYPE

Banked Slalom

Date And Time

20 February 2009 - 26 February 2009

Heavy snow falls the last 5 days and bad forecast untill sunday 22 february, changed the schedule of the upcoming World Rookie Tour stop in Serbia but snow storms can’t stop the furius black yeti and the event is still confirmed. The 2star Swatch TTR “Protest Balkan Rookie Fest” is post poned to 24.26 february and moves to Tara Mountain while riders from Serbia, Slovenia and Macedonia are already on the road to the Conquer of the Snowboard Age.

“Snow falls and bad forecast make impossible to run the event as planned in Kopaonik from 20 to 22 february, so we decided to change the event schedule to 24.26 february and move to Tara Mountains, 200km from Belgrad” sayd Marco Sampaoli, World Rookie Tour director. “Our priority is to make the event happen and present this rookie format to the youngsters from the balkan area. 24 to 26 february are the only free days in an already full event calendar”.

Tara Mountain, part of the Outer Dinaric Alps, is located in western Serbia and stands at 1.000-1.500 meters above sea level. The mountain is a popular tourist center and Tara’s National Park encompasses a large part of the mountain. For Protest Balkan Rookie Fest, Tara Mountain will present a 300m snowpark slope featuring table tops, several box and rails including the Navara “Rookie Fest” Battleship Box.
