Quiksilver SnowJam

Biggest Czech snowboarding event uncovered the names of all 10 invited riders. It is for sure that this year’s Quiksilver Snowjam (part of O2 Snowboard Tour) will bring the best riders in its history.

Favorite Marku Koski belongs to world’s TOP 10 riders and has just proved it again in Vancouver where he reached finals in half-pipe. Marius Otterstad from Norway and Thomas Franc from Switzerland are coming to fight for their best as well. You can see all names on www.snowjam.cz where riders can fill the registration form. What attracts them so much is not only great event with loads of fun but also prize money of 10.000 USD. We will see who will take the biggest part of it in Spindleruv Mlyn on 19th and 20th of March.

Riders are about to rip

Even though that there are names of world famous snowboarders on the starting list, Czech riders are in shape and ready for tough competition. Czech freestyle snowboard champion will skip qualification and go automatically to semifinals. Czech will also represent pro riders Jan Necas (last year he finished 4th) and Martin Cernik. Martin has a double role – as a rider and co-organizer of Quiksilver Snowjam he is going to have a tought weekend. „From what we see on the start I can say that this is going to be best Snowjam ever,“ smiles Martin and he adds: „Last year we have seen double backflip. But this years competition is even more rough so I wonder what we will see in Saturday’s Nutcase Best Trick.“

Riders will go thru all freestyle disciplines including half-pipe, rail and big air. Top 10 riders from friday’s qualification will challenge 10 invited riders in the semifinals.

The biggest snowparty in Czech

Quiksilver Snowjam is not only about top snowboarding. Night parties on Friday and Saturday will fired up all visitors and riders. Friday’s party will be a DJ night starts at 8 pm and features DJs Friky and Jorgos. They both are DJs of Prague’s Radio DJ and their mixes are funk and hiphop flavored. If you like the combination of DJ mixes and live bands you can’t miss Saturday night party starting at 7 pm with Plexis and Apple Juice punk concert. 9.30 pm is set as official starting time for Snowjam Party with energetic Skapollo, United Flavour with international musicians and last but not least DJs Robot and Ladida.

Skapollo are rolling since 2002 (at those times under V3SKA name as Czech SKA fans remember). They produce tunes influenced by ragga and funk. Another band for Saturday’s night is United Flavour. As their name clearly speaks for itself their style comes from uniting a flavor of different music styles such as ragga, dancehall and funk.

Ladida is one of the most successful DJanes from Czech. She is also a producer and her mixes and tunes represent Czech scene all over the world. Ladida mixes mostly electronical beats. On another hand DJ Robot mixes various genres such as funk, breakbeat and hiphop into one energetic set.
