RIDE Shakedown at Garmisch-Partenkirchen

More than 40 of the world’s top professional male snowboarders will bring their A-game to Germany, March 11-12, 2011, to compete for a € 35,000 purse at the European RIDE Shakedown snowboard event.

The RIDE Shakedown, held at Mont-Saint-Sauveur, Quebec, for the past nine winters, and in Washington State, USA for the past year, is one of the snowboard industry’s most exciting and anticipated competitions, drawing the biggest names in snowboarding, the most promising up-and-comers and more than 20,000 fans to the two-day festival. The inaugural European edition of the RIDE Shakedown big air and rail competition will be held in Germany at the Olympic Stadium Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain, is providing us with a worthy panorama.

The year 2011 will be a defining one for the RIDE Shakedown: 10th anniversary of the original snowboard event, a return to the United States for a 2nd year and an introduction of a European leg of the competition in Germany.
