For the sixth time, the Summer Bang took over the Banger Park in Scharnitz, Austria, and once again delivered what it’s known for: freestyle snowboarding in a relaxed summer setting, with a strong sense of community and progression at its core.

 

While young riders took part in contests in the U11, U13, U15 and Open categories, showcasing their skills in the jib area and on the landing bags, World Cup athletes used the massive XL jump to get valuable training time in. One special highlight: pro rider Leon Gütl not only dropped in for a few laps, but also co-hosted parts of the event.

 

What makes Summer Bang unique? Around midday, the whole scene comes together – pros, coaches, curious newcomers, and club athletes ride side by side, share tricks and tips, and enjoy a summer day full of stoke and community.

 

 

Looking ahead: Berchtesgaden in focus

 

Inspired by the success of the Summer Bang, the team is now looking into expanding event formats to Snowboard Germany’s landing bag in Berchtesgaden, where another high-end landing bag setup awaits. The idea: to create more opportunities for young athletes, but also for coaches, medical staff and the broader snowboard scene to connect and grow.

 

Good to know: The Berchtesgaden setup is more technically demanding and best suited for riders with prior landing bag experience.
