Six Nations on the Corvatsch Rookie Fest Podium

The Black Yeti is proud of all rookies, even this year the Corvatsch Rookie Fest was a blast. The beautiful mountain landscape and the amazing set up of Corvatsch Snowparkmade the event memorable.

Almost 50 riders from 8 nations got challenged to conquer the podium of the Swiss stop of the Rookie Tour.  The race took place on a perfect setup designed specifically for the event and consisted of one downbox & one downrail on the first table, two kicker (8 and 15 mt) on the second table, one 17 meters’ kicker with the possibility to use it like a spine and the last rail area with one downrail and one down tube.

Wendelin Gauger (SUI) scored best in today’s rookie boys final with a solid run, bringing Swiss among the winning nations. Second and third place went to two other nations, Germany and Italy, thanks to Philip Schwan (GER) and Marco Krschhackl (ITA) run. Also grom boys showed their best: Alessandro Lotorto (SUI) was awarded the first place, followed by William Mathisen (SWE) that brings Sweden on the podium and Loris Reich (SUI) at third step.

In girls’ competition Emma Gennero (ITA) took the first place in the rookie category. Silver and bronze medal for Mona Danuser (SUI) and Anine Leenderts (NOR) that bring Norway on the podium . On the groms’ side, the Swiss Lena Müller (SUI) brought gold home and Bianca Gisler (SUI) occupies the second steps, The bronze medal goes to Mia Brookes (GBR), which brings Great Britain among the winning nations.

1* Rookie Boy – Wendelin Gauger (SUI): switch blunt 270, switch back 9 mellon, backside 7 mute, front 1 in, switch back 3 out
1* Rookie Girl – Emma Gennero (ITA): cab 1 in, backside 3, frontside 3 indy, 50-50 boardslide
1* Grom Boy – Alessandro Lotorto (SUI): backlip, fontside 7 mellon, backside 7 indy, frontboard 450 out
1* Grom Girl – Lena Müller (SUI): backboard, backside 3 tail, stailfish, 50-50 front 1

Date confirmed for the 2017 Corvatsch Rookie Fest!

The World Rookie Tour goes on and we are happy to confirm that the Corvatsch Rookie Fest will be held from the 14th to the 17th December 2017 at the amazing Corvatsch Snowpark in Switzerland.

Black Yeti is back in Corvatsch

This year the Black Yeti has returned to Corvatsch to find the next pro rider, and first day of training at Corvatsch Snowpark was a blast!

IMG_9792More than 50 riders from 9 nations have warmed on the park obstacles through-out the day. Big up to the shapers’ work that have put together a perfect park for this start of season: first jib set with a downrail box and a flatdown rail, 2 table with 2 kickers each and a last jib set with wallride, 2 downrail.  

Sunshine, mid temperatures and perfect snow were the excellent background for the first day of Corvatsch Rookie Fest stop.

Video Corvatsch Park Setup – Rookies, are you ready?

Black Yeti is proud to present you Corvatsch park setup on opening day 2016/17! Corvatsch is ready to host the best Rookie Fest ever!

WRT Early Season Main Event in Corvatsch Confirmed

Black Yeti is working on the next season and he is happy to announce you the event after the World Rookie Rail Jam in Modena! Indeed, Corvatsch is ready to host the second edition of the Corvatsch Rookie Fest scheduled from 15th to 18th December 2016.

2015 World Rookie Tour Shooting in Corvatsch

After the “Gran Finale” in Ischgl, some of the best riders from the 2014.15 World Rookie Tour were invited to Corvatsch, Switzerland, for the end of season Rookie Shooting. A unique opportunity to join a professional photo and video session driven by Lorenzo “Fizza” Verdinelli, italian senior photographer and editor in chief at 4Snowboard Magazine.

7 rookies from all over Europe joined the shooting and spent 2 days at the Corvatsch Snowpark, with its great set up: many jib obstacles, a great pro kicker line and a superpipe 6.8m high, 140m long. The scenario was great for the end of season shooting and everybody had a lot of fun during the photo and video sessions.

Big Air Girls battle for Number 1 WSPL at the Swiss Freestyle Champs Corvatsch

Corvatsch, Audi Snowboard Series & Play Engadin present the Swiss Freestyle Champs from 16th to 19th april. All three disciplines Slope Style, Half Pipe & Big Air will be held on a top pro set up at the Corvatsch Freestyle Park.

Thanks to the good positions of the swiss girls (Elena Könz, Sina Candrian, Lia-Mara Bösch and more), they guarantee a battle for the 1st position in the WSPL ranking before the summer break. Lia-Mara, Elena & Sina are happy to welcome any top girls who want to join them at the Swiss Freestyle Champs!

For Big Air men and the other disciplines it will be the final chance getting positioned in the top 20 before the season break. As almost all swiss pro riders will be there we can guarantee good WSPL Points. We recommend all european riders ranked 18-35 to join “the battle of the last chance”. For pipe and slope we have already more than 100 registered riders!

The whole mountain of Corvatsch will be one big festival. There will be more than 40 Live and DJ acts on the mountain and near the Bottom Station. Friends and family members can find good packages including housing, riding & party tickets. Check the line-up and offers on www.playengadin.ch

Poster Swiss Champs

The Corvatsch & Play Engadin offer good conditions for housing and tickets from 11th until end of April. Like this the Teams can stay longer than just for the competition and can train on a top Set Up.

2015 Rookie Fest Shooting in Corvatsch

The best riders of the World Rookie Tour 2014-2015 will be awarded with a new and prestigious prize: the Rookie Fest Shooting up on the Corvatsch Snowpark in Switzerland.

The Corvatsch Snowpark is the perfect place for snowboarders that wants to have fun!
The Snowpark lies beside the Mandra ski lift, directly next to Murtèl middle station. The kicker and rail park features three lines of varying difficulty (beginner, intermediate and pro). There is also a halfpipe (6.8m high, 140m long), a bag jump for smooth landings and a chill-out area.

The invited rookies and grom will get free accommodation, food, lift tickets and will enjoy 4 days with a professional photographer and a professional filmer that will realise a video release and pictures that will be published on Onboard, Cooler and MPora.
