NOCK’N’ROCK – ROCKING THE NOCKY MOUNTAINS

Go get a red pen and mark February 24, 2018 in your calendars, because on this day the Nocky Mountains will be rocked during the Nock’n’Rock at the Snowpark Turracher Höhe. At the 6th stop of the QParks Tour there is going to be sick contest action, sweet goodies and prize money. Real shreadheads shouldn’t miss out on that!

On a length of 1.5 kilometres, the Snowpark Turracher Höhe offers everything you need to prepare for the Nock’n’Rock on February 24, 2018: Tubes, Rails, Boxes, Jibs and Kicker with up to 14 meters of airtime, spread across five different areas. This park makes every freestyler’s heart beat faster, for sure! On the contest line you will have the chance to show the judges your best tricks and creative lines. Participation at the Nock’n’Rock is free for every category – men, women and groms. You can easily register online.

 

Goodies, Snacks & Cash
Spending the whole day in the park gets you hungry – that’s why there will be snacks and tea for free. Besides that, you can win goodies by WeAre, Amplifi, Pinetime and QParks. Those of you who put their backs into it will also get the chance to win 100€ for their best move at the Best TrickAward. On top of that, prize money of 2,000€ in total is waiting for the winners!

Rankings & Cups
At the Nock’n’Rock you can gather valuable points for the overall ranking of the QParks Tour. Snowboarders get an extra benefit: Participating in the contest will give them the chance to also collect points for the World Snowboard Points List, the World Rookie Ranking and the Austria Cup Tour.

Girls Shred Sessions 2018 – Info & Schedule

The Girls Shred Sessions are back again! Also in the winter 2018, female riders will have a shredalicious time – QParks takes care of that with a number of events. Together with experienced coaches they’ve set themselves the goal to gather as many girls as possible in the snowpark, where they can work on their shred skills. During 7 sessions in 7 snowparks the girls will receive tips and tricks about shredding by professional snowboard and freeski coaches.

Girls Own The Park

That’s the motto under which female snowboarders and freeskiers from all around the Alpine region have come together for joint shred sessions for 6 years now. For a whole day it is all about refining tricks or just gaining a first insight into the freestyle scene. Drop by for a session in the following parks:

7 Sessions in 7 Parks

The Snowpark Obergurgl is fueled with extra girls power, because at the Diamond of the Alps even the park is shaped by a female-only crew. In the Superpark Planai you are welcomed by the Blue Tomato team riders themselves and especially more advanced riders shouldn’t miss out on the Girls Shred Session in the Penken Park Mayrhofen. The badenova Snowpark Feldberg provides a sweet setup for everyone who wants to work on their jib skills. For all of you who like to soak up Italian sun, the Girls Shred Sessions stop in the Snowpark Alta Badia for the very first time. And also the Golden Roofpark Axamer Lizum invites all chicks to a girls-only session this winter which is the closest girlsonly ride from Innsbruck! At the final event, the Blue Tomato Girls Day at the Blue Tomato Kings Park Höchkönig, you will meet the coaches from Blue Tomato once again.

What to expect

At the Girls Shred Session you spend a whole day together with pro coaches in the snowpark. In a relaxed atmosphere you can work on your shred skills with the help of the coaches while getting to know other motivated shred girls:“It was definitely cool! In Julia, who I got to know here, I also found a new friend with whom I can shred the park from now on.”, says rider Theresa. On top you get lunch and goodies provided by Blue Tomato, Nikita, Golden Ride, Planet Sports, WeAre and QParks for free.

Never stopped by a Girls Shred Session before? No problem. You don’t need to be a pro to participate. If you’ve mastered your freeski or snowboard basics and are not afraid of one or two slams, you’re ready and set for the Girls Shred Sessions. QParks Tour is going down this season!

CONTESTS FOR RIDERS.

It was back in 2003 when the first contest forged by the QParks founding fathers swept across the alps. We held the first Pleasure Jam up at Dachstein glacier and all the riders were stoked. For many years to come, the unique thing about the Pleasure Jam was that – through qualification – also rookie snowboarders were given the chance to compete against international superstars and some of them quickly made their leap onto the global stage. However, as big as some of their names have become, as little was the number of those who made it into the finals.

So in 2010 we finally decided it was time to launch the QParks Tour as the biggest amateur contest series in the Alps. Not anymore just for the sideway standers, but also for freeskiers rocking our setups with their twin tips. To guarantee constant conditions and quality setups, the Tour has always and exclusively been held in QParks. Participation still is free, there’s also free catering and international and certified judges cater for fair rankings. 

And it was a huge success. As of today, a community of 500 riders out of 15 nationalities will jump and slide down 9 different QParks in 4 countries – and their number is growing every winter.

As thick layers of snow have covered our mountains, more and more QParks are opening their lines for your weekend’s shred!

Among them, Snowpark Schöneben will already open with its entire setup, then we have Familypark Obergurgl, Blue Tomato Kings Park Hochkönig,  SKYLINE SNOWPARK Schilthorn, Snowpark Kreischberg, Snowpark Turracher Höhe, Superpark Planai, Snowpark Großarltal, Penken Park Mayrhofen, Snowpark Val Thorens and so on…

QParks Snowboard Tour Set for 2016/17

For seven years the QParks Snowboard Tour has been paving the way for ambitious shred talents from the alpine area to start their pro careers. Owing to the professional & international judges and an impressive cash price of a total of 40.000 €, the biggest amateur contest series of the Alps is the perfect introduction to the world of competition. What’s more, the catering for the riders is FREE from this season onwards. There’s also news on the brand-new QParks Snowboard Tour website, the fresh new look makes the free registration even easier.

Contests for Riders – For 7 Years

With contests in Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland, the QParks Snowboard Tour remains the biggest ongoing freestyle amateur contest series of the entire alpine area in 2016/17. One of its main goals is supporting young talent. Competitors in the categories men, women and groms are looking forward to a top-notch setup perfect for each skill level and plenty of cool goodies and cash prizes from Amplifi, QParks and Pinetime Clothing. All the action will make riders hungry and that’s why all of the riders will enjoy free food and drinks at each tour stop.

Rankings, Cups & Points

The loyalty of the competitors will be rewarded once again: Apart from the essential QParks Snowboard Tour points, there’s also the chance to collect points for the WSPL Ranking of the World Snowboard Tour and the World Rookie Rank. Plus, the stops in Austria are part of the Austria Cup.

Best Trick Battle – Win the VIP Invitation

Those riders who convinced the judges last year with their style and managed to win the category “Best Trick” have even more reason to be happy – All of last year’s winners of the various tour stops are currently in the race for the “Best Trick Battle” collecting as many votes as possible for their trick online. The prize is a VIP Invitation for one of the upcoming tour stops including lift tickets and accommodation for two persons. The voters won’t be left empty handed as well – Pinetime Clothing will draw a cool package among them, which will also include the new HiRise Hoodie.
