Brown Bears Banked Slalom to go down on the 19 January 2020!

The De Le Rue brothers, Saint-Lary is one of the best pyrenean snowboard spots with a very large freeride possibilities and top quality snowparks. The resort organises many events each year just as the World Junior FIS Championships in snowboardcross and the Xtrem Freeride in March. For the first time ever, on the 19 of January 2020 the Brown Bears (local snowboard team) organise a banked slalom contest called Brown Bears Banked Slalom 2020 which is also part of the WSF Banked Slalom Tour 2019/20 and is set to go down on the 19 January 2020!

Hochkeil Banked Slalom 2020 is part of the WSF Banked Slalom Tour!

We are happy to announce that the Hochkeil Banked Slalom 2020 is part of the WSF Banked Slalom Tour 2019/20. It is also the first event on the WSF Banked Slalom Tour calendar, so you better save the date! As the organizers stated:

“January is dominated by the joy of snowboarding at our 100% natural snow area Hochkeil. We are looking forward to welcome a lot of riders and maybe another snowboard legend. This weekend, the banked slalom race is not just about speed, the average time and the funniest old-school rider are just as awarded as the winners of the “Snurfer Class” without bindings. Kids and Families are welcome! Beside the Banked race you will surely find time for a few runs in the fresh POW at Hochkeil. The Snowboardmuseum will have a special exhibition.”

Shred Down Banked Slalom is back in Westendorf for 2020!

We are hyped to present you another banked slalom contest which is part of our WSF Banked Slalom Tour 2019/20. The legendary Shred Down Banked Slalom will go down in Westendorf on the 15th of March 2020. The event has a long tradition of 21 years so you can expect nothing else than epicness and good times.

Grown-ups, youngsters and kids of all ages and skills will gather again on a fun banked slalom course to get that contest feeling while having fun on the mountain. The smallest shredders are expected again to make the biggest show and showcase their talent at the 21st edition of Shred Down Banked Slalom.

Report: Treble Cone Banked Slalom 2019

One of the first Banked Slalom contests of this season went down on the last day of August in New Zealand’s Treble Cone resort. This year’s Treble Cone Banked Slalom counted an impressive number of 83 competitors. The organization of the event was complimented by amazing bluebird weather to create a festive atmosphere and fun event that was described by competitors and staff as the best Banked Slalom in recent memory!

Treble Cone’s Banked Slalom is recognised by the press as New Zealand’s most iconic snowboard race and has been a traditional event at Treble Cone for over 16 years.

This year the event was sponsored by: Moa Beer, Jones Snowboards, Now Bindings and POW.

Burning Boots Banked Slalom to take place 7th – 8th March 2020

Burning Boots Banked Slalom is back this season for another set of mayhem turns and good times. The event will take place at Munich’s home resort Brauneck (just 70 km from the city) from the 7th to the 8th March 2020.

The event is special not only because of the location close to the city of Munich, but also because of the number of grommets you meet at the start. There is a well-working cooperation with Snowboard Germany, BSV and the Shred Kids to support the next generation of snowboarders. This is a unique thing for a banked slalom which makes Burning Boots a speciality within the snowboard races in the area.

Last season saw the second edition of Burning Boots and there were already 120 riders from 10 different nationalities participating which took the event to the international level. More riders are expected at this year’s edition, so don’t hesitate and get more information on the official website.

The starting fees are: 20€ / adult and 10€ / kid (under 15 years of age). You can register here.

2019 TREBLE CONE BANKED SLALOM

The Treble Cone Banked Slalom is a an epic event for snowboarders 18 years & over, on Saturday the 31st of August 2019.

HOW TO ENTER:
Competitors must be 18 years old and over to compete. Categories are Open Male, Open Female, Masters Male (35+) and Masters Female (35+).

To register online, visit https://www.treblecone.com/whats-happening/events/. In-person registration is available at the Treble Cone Town Office at 24 Dungarvon Street, Wanaka or on-mountain at Guest Services. For more information, email events@treblecone.com. Only 90 spaces available – registrations close 08:50 the morning of the event or when spaces are full.

ENTRY FEES & COMPETITOR PASSES:
Competition Entry – $40 Lift Pass – $100 Discounted passes are only available in person on the day. Please show your bib or registration confirmation at Guest Services to redeem.

SCHEDULE:
Bib Collection: 08:00-10:00, at the Snow Sports Meeting Area opposite Guest Services Course Inspection: 10:00-10:45 Race Start: 11:00 Competitor BBQ: 14:00 in Plaza Awards Ceremony: 15:00 in Plaza The Banked Slalom course will be located on Lower Gun Barrel (snow dependent). Each participant will be allowed 2 runs, with the final time taken from the fastest run.

Helmets compulsory. Safety induction to be signed at registration. Snowboarders only.

Cash prizes are up for grabs for podium places in each category.

The overall first place male and female winner will each receive a new snowboard, courtesy of Jones.

Zuoz Rocks Banked Slalom

THE WILD RIDE IN ZUOZ

The “Zuoz Rocks Banked Slalom 4 Charity” on February 16th stands for three things: action, a good time and a good cause. Whilst a good time filled with action doesn‘t need an explanation, here‘s some information on the event!

 

ACTION

Banked Slalom stands for the beginnings of snowboarding: a race against time, where participants have to complete a wild off-piste route. Back to the roots baby!

 

 

A GOOD CAUSE

You‘ll alway come down somehow, but can you get up too? The good cause part is about raising awareness at eye level. And the topic? Surprise Surprise: it’s Sexual Health! So it’s not just about being safe on the mountain, but also at the after party.

 

GOOD TIME

With GummiLove, a good time is guaranteed! To ensure this, there is a big party tent with the band KingZebra rocking it!

GummiLove Banked Slalom Stoos – 16. March 2019

„Back to the roots“ that’s the spirit for this year’s fourth edition of GummiLove Banked Slalom Stoos. 110 contestants including snowboard legends such as Fredi Kalbermatten were chasing down one of the most spectacular runs in Switzerland last year.  But it is the fun and the love for snowboarding that come in a first place and what make this event to such a great occasion for all the lovers of the sport to come together and celebrate. After the continuing success of the previous years, Dani “Gummi” Rietmann from GummiLove and Beni Plüss from the hosting local Shredisfaction Snowpark are super stoked and convinced that this year is going to be another record-breaking edition. 
Also it is GummiLove’s 10-Year anniversary so it’s going to be a great party all day that will continue after the event, when the DJs of HIBOU are heating up the legendary Klingenkellerbar. You really shouldn’t miss out on this one!
 
If you’re not familiar with the resort yet, Stoos is located right in the heart of Switzerland and super easy to get to. Plus you get to ride the world’s steepest furnicular to get up there. Need anything more to get hyped? Guess not!
