Thorgren and Derungs prevail at the O’Neill Pleasure Jam

What a day up here at Superpark Dachstein it has been. With a condensed schedule in action, it was a day ram packed with some of the finest international talents throwing down in the hope of taking home the metallic glory of the O’Neill Pleasure Jam medals.

It was Sven Thorgren, WSF World Rookie Champion 2012, who took home the gold in the men’s category. His run consisting of a cab double 1080, bs 1080 and a massive double rodeo on the last hit finally clinched a victory for Sven after 2 years of being on the cups of victory. Brage Richenberg came in 3rd, no doubt with his super stylish fs 1080 off-the-toes making a big impact on his final score, whilst David Hablützel span his way into 2nd position with a bs 900, cab double 1080 and a frontside 720 sealing him in for the silverwear.

In the women’s final, it was a hotly contested battle for the trophy cabinet, but it was one of Switzerlands finest exports, Mrs Isabel Derungs that clinched the gold with a backside rodeo that was sent almost to the bottom of the landing. Backing this up with some solid moves on the rails, she definitely earned the win this year. In second place came local Austrian Anna Gasser coming in off a high from her recent cab double 900, but it was her smooth slow bs 180 that stole the silver from right under former winner Aimee Fullers nose, who had to settle for bronze.
An incredible finish to a perfect day up on the Dachstein Glacier! The full results are online here and the filmers are already locked in the editing room getting the visual assault of trickery into a video for your viewing pleasure.
