It is once again time for Volvo X OVER RIDE, a 3 Star TTR event coming up soon, from March 25th to 27th, 2011 for its 8th edition.

Snowboarders will competing in the Halfpipe and Slopestyle contests for prize money of EUR 7,200 and the coveted title of “Ruler of the Hill”! Besides a cool atmosphere in the “spectator stands” and the spectacular stunts by the freeskiers and snowboarders, visitors and participants can look forward to the legendary after-contest party at Kaprun Castle on Saturday night. In a medieval atmosphere, the party with live bands and DJs on two floors will go on late enough to see the castle ghosts do the moon walk. www.x-over.at

On Friday, March 25th, 2011, freeskiers and boarders will need to overcome the first hurdle. The first day of the competition is all about the qualifying for Halfpipe and Slopestyle. On Saturday and Sunday, the real challenge begins, when the masters of Halfpipe and Slopestyle will be determined – following the motto “higher, further and – especially – more stylish”. An important announcement for the participating snowboarders: The Volvo X OVER RIDE is an official TTR competition (3 stars). This means that competing pays off since it counts towards valuable points in the world rankings. For the “Ruler of the Hill”, there is something very special in store: He or she will be sent to the “X-Fighters” tour stop in Poland on August 6th, 2011.

Spectators and curious onlookers are cordially invited to cheer on the daring freeski and snowboard artists. On the sun deck outside the Volvo ICE CAMP (www.volvo-ice-camp.com), directly behind the snow park of Kitzsteinhorn Mountain, they will find not only premium views from the comfortable lounge chairs, but also the right atmosphere. DJs with their cool sounds will fire up riders as well as spectators. Those who still need more action can warm up by climbing the Ice Tower right next to the igloos of Volvo ICE CAMP or testing the latest ski and snowboard models at the Expo area for free.
