World Snowboard Day 2011

For its 5th edition, the World Snowboard Day gathered more than 22 000 people from 38 countries at 160 events. The World Snowboard Day is a unique open day for everyone and a great opportunity for the whole snowboard community to promote snowboarding as a sport and culture.

Since its beginning in 2006, the WSD has held over 500 events with more than 100,000 participants and the World Snowboard Day has become a reference event in the world winter sports calendar.

Launched and organized by EuroSIMA (European Boardsports Industry Manufacturers Association), the WSF (World Snowboard Federation) and Outdoor Sports Valley (Home of the European Outdoor Sports Industry), the World Snowboard Day benefited from 2 important new partners: the SIA association (Snowsports Industries America) for the all American continent and Corepower Asia for China, South Korea and Japan. These partners will enable a great increase in the number of event’s in those Countries, taking the concept truly global.

Important information: the FIS (International Ski Federation) launches, in January 2012, the World Snow Day. Both in concept and name, this event gets close to the World Snowboard Day. EuroSIMA, owner of the event (name deposed on OHMI, French intellectual property rights) is already in contact with the FIS and will make sure its intellectual property rights are respected.
The next World Snowboard Day will be on Sunday, December 18th 2011, to open as every year, the winter season and will remain a promotional tool for the sole use of the whole snowboard community.
