World Snowboard Tour: bigger and better than ever

With the Southern Hemisphere contests finished, the World Snowboard Tour will take a short break and then return bigger and better than ever. The Northern Hemisphere competition calendar is chock-full of the best snowboard competitions in the world.

The 11th edition of the Red Bull Nanshan Open will be hosting the first ever women’s 5Star competition in China. The Arctic Challenge (6Star/ Halfpipe) in Oslo is back and will be the season finale for Men’s Halfpipe competition. Another highlight to look forward to will be the two-day celebration of 20 years of Air & Style at the Billabong Air & Style in Innsbruck, Austria. If those reasons were not enough for this season’s World Snowboard Tour to be off the hook, TTR now has a special treat for you: ESPN’S X Games events and the Sprint U.S. Snowboarding will be part of the World Snowboard Tour. Those additions bring TTR Pro Snowboarding one step closer to its main goal: to unify competitive snowboarding within the World Snowboard Tour.

“This year’s World Snowboard Tour will be more exciting than ever.” – Reto Lamm, President of TTR Pro Snowboarding.

Grand Prix Now Dual Sanctioned

The Sprint U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix will join the World Snowboard Tour as 5Star events and at the same time the events will maintain their FIS World Cup status. This will be a major benefit for the riders because they will be able to win TTR points as well as FIS World Cup points for the Olympic Qualification process at the same events.
