WSC live in Finland

IMG Media announced today that they have secured a deal with YLE for the World Snowboarding Championships in February 2012.
Finland has always been a nation to count on in snowboarding. Now the finns can see Peetu and the rest of their top riders battle for gold at the World Snowboarding Championships live across all media.

The deal will see YLE take live coverage across all media in Finland for this flagship event in the Snowboarding calendar.The inaugural World Snowboarding Championships (WSC) will be the most important snowboarding event of 2012, attracting the best snowboarders from around the world and providing the most exciting and hard fought competition of the season.

The best 240 snowboarders from 30 countries will come together in the highest quality competitive freestyle snowboard environment in the world, hosted in the winter capital of Oslo. The pinnacle event of the snowboarding calendar, held every four years and crowning a male and female World Champion in both slopestyle and halfpipe competitions, the WSC is the platform for riders to take snowboarding to the next level, setting the standard for future tournaments and events. A monster quarter pipe event in the legendary Holmenkollen ski jumping arena will kick start the finals, offering equal prize money to the rider who can impress with the biggest jumps in this extremely demanding show competition.
