WSD 2013: Another success across the world's summits

For its 8th edition, World Snowboard Day hasn’t aged at all! As with every year, more than 100 events were hosted in 30 countries. In other words thousands of snowboard enthusiasts, beginners and experts, were able to enjoy activities for free all across the planet on Sunday, December 22nd; the whole shebang in a crazy, festive, warm, and of course friendly atmosphere.

The program for World Snowboard Day 2013 included first-time snowboard lessons, introductions to splitboarding, demonstrations, contests, equipment tests, film showings, barbecues, concerts, photo shootings, or simply going out with friends to ride fresh powder. The entire international snowboarding community (federations, ski areas, clubs, shops, ski schools, pro riders, associations, and brands) bent over backwards to promote and ensure that everyone could discover, for free, the joys of riding and snowboarding’s unique culture.

Created in 2006 by EuroSIMA, the World Snowboard Federation and Outdoor Sports Valley, in partnership with SnowSports Industries America, Core Power Asia and TTR Pro Snowboarding, the goal of this international event is to offer everyone the opportunity to participate in this one-of-a-kind day, for free, to discover the joys of snowboarding, and its culture.
