WSF Snowpark Clinic 2010 Val Senales, Italy

The second WSF shaper clinic 2010 took place in Val Senales (Italy) and provided all informations on how to build a perfect and safe snowpark.

The WSF Shaper Clinic had a main focus on the design of a snowpark as one of the main features for a ski resort. It is developed by norwegian shaper Lars Eriksen, head shaper in Hemsedal and park designer for big events like the Burton European Open in Livigno and the Arctic Challange. Lars produced also a new manual about the design of modern snowparks, with guide lines about bulding and mantein save and fun snowparks. The manual is distributed to the partecipants of every WSF Snowpark Clininc.

During the teorical parts there were many explanations about different types of snowpark, obstacles setup, dimensions, geometry, rules, and safety requirment of the park and its obstacles. Shaping tecniques with snowcats and by hand rapresented a big part of the teorical part.

A pratical part of the clinic was necessary to evaluete in the “Gentlemens Snowpark in Val Senales” all the aspect of the teoric lessons. After the visit of the park in Senales, the partecipants started working groups to re-disign a new park in the same location in accordance with the know-how coming from the clininc.
