WSF Snowpark Clinic 2012 - Third Edition

The World Snowboard Federation (WSF), in collaboration with New Austrian Snowboard Association (ASA), invites you to the International Clinic in Snowboard Park Construction in Innsbruck, Austria, from February 2nd to 3rd 2012.

THE CLINIC


The goal of the clinic is to provide park builders and resort organizers with the knowledge required to build and maintain safe, varied and exciting parks for their users.

In addition, the clinic also provides some background on the financial aspects of park construction and management. The clinic is open and recommended to anyone involved in the organization, operation and construction of mountain resorts.

There will also be practical parts held in the Nitro Skylinepark at Innsbrucker Nordketten Bahnen (www.nordkette.com)

WATCHING THE EXPERT
Learning facilitator for the clinic will be Lars Eriksen. Lars is currently the Park Manager for Hemsedal Resort in Norway, and the man behind the ‘Blue Park Concept’. Among the many contest arenas, Lars has built parks for the Burton European Open, several photo shoots and he works as a ski resort consultant. In addition to his present work, Lars is also the author of a park construction manual which will be distributed to the participants.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Day 1 (Feb. 2nd)

Theoretical Session:
o The park concept – history
o Customers’ needs and requests.
o Park elements: Short Introduction
o Location of the park – considerations and consequences
Practical Session
• Building an element with Cat
• Marking and securing of element
• Inspection of the park area
o How to build fun boxes and jumps

Day 2 (Feb. 3rd):

Theoretical Session:
o Setting up rails
o Safety and responsibility.
o Daily maintenance
o Group assignment
