After 9 wildly successful editions, World Snowboard Day is going all out to celebrate the upcoming 10th edition by calling upon no less than 3 world-renowned riders to represent the event. Following in the footsteps of Anne-Flore Marxer, Xavier de le Rue, and Régis Rolland, for 2015, Rob KINGWILL, Gian SIMMEN and WANG Lei will join the adventure!

focus on riders:

Rob Kingwill is a pro snowboarder from Jackson Hole, WY, who has enjoyed an extremely successful career as a halfpipe competitor, winning the US Open and over 20 World Cup podiums and US Grand Prixs. He has medals from the X-Games to the Gravity Games, by way of the World Championships, and was on the US Snowboard team for 8 years. The official 2015 WSD ambassador for the Americas also founded the nonprofit “The Futurepositiv Project”, which focuses on activating youth in the outdoors through snowboarding.

Swiss rider Gian Simmen is the official 2015 WSD ambassador for Europe, and yet another snowboarding legend. During the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, where snowboard halfpipe made its debut as an Olympic event, Gian became the first snowboard halfpipe Olympic gold medalist. Over 15 years after his victory, he continues to shred hard and inspire riders throughout the snowboard community.

Wang Lei is China’s best known snowboarder, and with a winter sports career that spans over two decades. Using his charismatic style, Wang Lei continues to push his limits as well as encourage the people around him to push their own, no matter what the challenge. He dedicates himself to growing snowboarding in China using his experience, talent, network, and passion for extreme sports. He has organized WSD events in China for the last 7 years, and is ecstatic to be the 2015 WSD ambassador for Asia.
