Billabong Flaunt it Big White

The 3rd stop of the Billabong Flaunt It tour was held Saturday February 26th at Big White in British Columbia. On another cold and snowy day, the competition was able to go on as usual. The slopestyle course catered to all levels as girls threw down their tricks on the XL line and the smaller line, which was custom built by a competitor who happened to be the park groomer. Flaunt It Big White was thrilled to have an all girls crew with a lady emcee, filmer, photographer and snow-cat driver.

The ladies were talented on Saturday with 540’s on the jumps to 270’s on and off the rails. The grand winner of the day was Quebec’s Stephanie Haines, jumping like a west-coaster stomping a front 3, backside 180 and boardslide on the down rail winning herself a trip to the finals in Tahoe. Natalie Good from New Zealand placed 2nd followed by Zuzy Rocka in 3rd. Two ladies in particular saw the podium numerous times, with Rachel Johnson and Alaura Ewen each receiving three different prizes at the awards. The rail jam showcased some impressive talent with Rachel Johnson taking the win with her cab 270 on 270 out on the flat-down rail. Additionally, she earned some serious style points all day long taking home the Sony Style Award. Alaura Ewen took home the Dakine Best Trick of the day with a stylish Front 3 tail grab on the jump. She also placed 5th in the slopestyle and 2nd in the rail jam.
