Dropkick Murphys Confirmed For The WSC 2012

Punk rocks version of AC/DC, the American band Dropkick Murphys, are ready for The World Snowboarding Championships in Oslo February 2012. The first band for Andrew W.K. and his Santos Party House – is hereby confirmed.

“I’m really happy that Dropkick Murphys are going to play at our party. I have only good memories from going on tour with the band, doing vocals for them. Their music radiates pure energy and joy and they are the perfect band for the drop-kick off for this week of party and snowboarding”, says party organiser Andrew W.K.

Music is an important part of the snowboarding culture. The World Snowboarding Championships have already released their official song in the US, hitting the charts as #4 on the heavy metal playlists for radio stations. This weekend Turbonegro kickstarted the official WSC 2012 opening party in New York, and on www.wsc2012.com there is a short film where Turbonegro and Terje Håkonsen explain the importance of music in snowboarding. The American rocker Andrew W.K. will be the host of his own night club concept, Santos Party House, during the WSC 2012 in Oslo. This will be located at the Vulkan, where every night is an opportunity to party hard, or at least at their own pace, for the riders and spectators.

“Dropkick Murphys will rock The World Snowboarding Championships like no other band, with Celtic punk rock-energy to the very end. It’s amazing to have them as the first confirmed band, and we’re looking forward to release further exciting names in the times to come”, says CEO of the WSC 2012, Henning Andersen.
