The Ticket To Ride (TTR) World Snowboard Tour launches 2007 with hot-heeled rivalry as the TTR Top 5 Ranking List presented by Swatch is in line for dramatic change as the current Top 4 Men prepare to compete for two sets of 1000 TTR Ranking Points, awarded through Superpipe and Quarterpipe results at the TTR SIX(6)STAR event O’Neill Evolution, 02nd-07th January at Davos, Switzerland.

Reaching one of the most sensitive stages in the Men’s TTR World Snowboard Tour so far, all is to ride for as less than 100 points separate the Top 8 Ranking spots. Friday’s finals at the O’Neill Evolution Superpipe will make a decisive impact on the Men’s TTR Ranking List leading into Saturday’s Quarterpipe Finals. Current TTR World Nr 1 Scotty Lago (USA) needs to make at least Top 8 in the Superpipe contest if he is not to be ousted by a title win from either current TTR World Nr 2 Risto Mattila (FIN), Nr 3 Danny Davis (USA) or Nr 4 Nicolas Mueller (SUI), all decided by a fraction of a point. Antti Autti (FIN) now ranked 6th could also be in with a chance of taking the tour lead with a first place win, if Lago does not make the Top 24. A rider’s 2nd, 3rd or 4th final result at the O’Neill Evolution Superpipe will also create a dramatic shift as the pressure to perform develops: the smallest difference in a rider’s score will be his biggest determining factor in the TTR Ranking List.

Further Tour drama unfolds with the Women’s TTR World Snowboard Tour. Current TTR World Nr 1 16-year-old Jamie Anderson (USA) would maintain her championship lead with a win in Friday’s Superpipe Finals. Should reigning TTR World Snowboard Tour Champion Cheryl Maas (NED) take first place, Saturday’s Quarterpipe Finals will be an interesting battle between the two girls as Maas ascends the ranks to a possible Top 3 position. Kjersti Buaas (NOR) is also in with a chance to enter TTR Top 10 with a Superpipe victory.

The O’Neill Evolution rider line-up heralds some of the greatest stars of snowboarding. Making their TTR World Snowboard Tour 0607 debut, O’Neill team rider Gian Simmen (SUI) and TTR Top 10 05/06 rider Janne Korpi (FIN); TTR World Snowboard Tour Champion title-defender Mathieu Crepel (FRA) joins TTR patron and halfpipe master Terje Haakonsen (NOR), quarterpipe killer Markku Koski (FIN), pipe-pimp Markus Keller (SUI), up-and-coming all-rounder Jean-Jacques Roux (FRA) and Austrian shredder Wolle Beer (AUT), to name a few.

O’Neill Evolution brings further suspense as the men’s and women’s Superpipe Finals on Saturday 06th January determines the next crucial installment of the TTR Ranking List as the world’s best snowboarders continue their quest for triumph and the TTR World Snowboard Tour Champion 0607 crown.
