Report Monster Energy Ride in Baltics tour 2013 „Boardsports OPEN”

77 riders from 4 different countries and a lot of snow for the Monster Energy Ride in Baltics Tour’ 13 opening „Boardsports OPEN” on 28 of November at Druskininkai (Lithuania). All gathered with impressive riding level for beginning of the season. Great snowpark shape by Baltic Snowpark Agency and a lot of media attention with awesome atmosphere.

Morning started with probably busiest registration, all riders tried to get on snow as soon as possible. For majority of riders it was the first day riding after summer, but we saw impressive riding level already in qualification that started with snowboard kids and women groups.

All the girls showed an amazing riding but at the end Karīna Vītiņa from Latvia was third, and locals riders from Lithuania,Agne Stasinskaite and Dora Urnieziute, were second and first.
Snowboard kids group was dominated by riders from Estonia, in the finals the best run was done by one of the youngest riders overall Morauskas Motiejus from Lithuania.
When the qualification for snowboard junior, open and pro groups, started the real show was on. All kinds of tricks with style, creative runs, well some crashes as well, but lets blame season beginning on that. Emīls Kaupers from Latvia did even better getting first place in finals for junior group.

Snowboard Men Open group approved its potential gathering 20 riders and keeping competition in high level. The winners fame went to Indrek Tamm from Estonia, who participated in Ride in Baltics Tour for the first time. Keep eye on him, looks like we will see much more from him this season.

After qualification Snowboard Men Pro group results were so close that it was impossible to guess, who will be on podium. But winner title and 150euro prize money went to Toms Petrusevičs from Latvia, who shortly after finals said that he had really good fun all day.
“AERODIUM Fly High” contest was just on time, while riders were waiting for qualification results. There were more riders ready to jump as high as they can. 14 years old rider from Latvia Nauris Putenis reached the top of tower, that is 5m high!

It’s great to see that Baltic riding level is growing by every competition. We are doing the right thing by organizing Ride in Baltics Tour`13 that unites Baltic snowboard scene, helps to develop this sport. “In the future i would like to see more riders from other countries!” said Einars Lansmanis founder of Ride in Baltics Tour.
After prize giving was time, for most of riders, to met up in cousy Coco bar for afterparty!

Thank you all riders for coming, all organizers, sponsors, partners and media for making it happen and great support. We really did have more FUN! We hope to see more international riders.
Monster Energy Ride in Baltics Tour`13 stops are also included in TTR World Snowboard Tour ranking!
Next stop „ OPEN” is planned on 22nd of December 2012 in Zagarkals Snowpark, one of the most famous snowparks in Latvia.
