WSC: Info to Riders

Now is the time when most of you riders plan your next winter season. So here is the basic buzz about the World Snowboarding Championships competition schedule.

The World Snowboarding Championships is a 10 days event, starting Friday February 10th and ends Sunday February 19th. This includes two full days of practice in the slopes. Depending on your spot on the TTR ranking list and the time you need for training your arrival day may vary. This is because the higher your rank on the TTR ranking list, the fewer competitions you need to enter to have a shot at the finals.

(Men Slopestyle and Halfpipe Competition format)

If you are #1 or #2 on TTR Halfpipe ranking list after Burton European Open 2012, you go straight to the semi-finals and your first competition day is Thursday February 16th. Your training days are Wednesday 16th and evening Tuesday 15th. You are welcome to join training on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th as well.

(Women Slopestyle and Halfpipe Competition format)

If you are #1 or #2 on the TTR Slopestyle ranking list after the Burton European Open 2012, you go straight to the semi finals and your first competiton day is Friday February 17th. Your training days are Thursday 16th and Tuesday 14th. You are welcome to jointraining on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th as well.

If you are #3 – #10 on the TTR Men Halfpipe rankling list after BEO or if you are #3 – #6 on the TTR Women Halfpipe ranking list after BEO, you don´t need to go through the pre-qualis and your first competition day is Tuesday February 14th. Your training days are evening Monday 13th and Sunday 12th. We recommend that you also take advantage of the full training days on Saturday 11th and Friday 10th.
If you are #3 – #10 on the TTR Men Slopestyle rankling list after BEO or if you are #3 – #6 on the TTR Women Slopestyle ranking list after BEO, you don´t need to go through the pre-qualis and your first competition day is Wednesday February 15th. Your training day is Tuesday 14th. We recommend that you also take advantage of the full training days on Saturday 11th and Friday 10th.
There Slopestyle course will be open for practise in between runs on Sunday 12th and Monday 13th as well, but the pre-qualification competition will be prioritized.

Important!
For the riders that are not on the TTR top 10 Men or top 6 Women after Burton European Open February 16th, and those who are qualified through other criterias than the TTR ranking lists. Your first competiton day is:
Men Slopestyle and Women Halfpipe – Sunday 12th.
Your training days are Saturday 11th and Friday 10th.
Men Halfpipe and Women Slopestyle – Monday 13th.
Your training days are Saturday 11th and Friday 10th. For Men Halfpipe, you may also train in the pipe on the evening Sunday 12th.
