Transfer Banked Slalom is back, August 19!

They call it the days of days for snowboarders, etched from history the Transfer Banked Slalom in Thredbo has carved itself into a highlight of the Australian winter.

The event embodies the very essence of snowboarding, with the Thredbo event bringing together the snowboard community – the old shredders showing the young guns old school moves while the fit and fearless float effortlessly through the carefully crafted course.

Consisting of berms, turns and jumps riders need to bring their A game to manoeuvre the technical but fun course to cross the line.  Features such as Galina’s Gully, a sweeping section, natural half pipe and a wall ride are sure to test riders on the day.  If there any tip to offer to get you over the line with a chance…wax that board and hold on.

The good times don’t stop on your last turn, Saturday night head to Poolside at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel where Client Liaison fresh off a sold out national tour will take over the party. From the studio to the top end of town, Client Liaison’s sound plays out like a long lunch followed by a round of cocktails, a definite Thredbo crowd favourite.

The Transfer Banked Slalom is one event the guys at the establishment will never be able to get their hands on, so leave the competitive hunger at home and replace it with an 80’s inspired après outfit and a big smile.

Beaver Valley Banked Slalom, Canada

Building on four successful years as one of Canada’s largest annual snowboard gatherings, the 2017 edition of the Beaver Valley Banked Slalom promises to be the best yet!

BV - 33x46

While it may be one of the leading North American stops on the World Banked Slalom Tour, the Beaver Valley Banked Slalom is a laid back, super cool contest that celebrates snowboard culture like few others while raising thousands of dollars for Leukemia Research in memory of Beaver Valley snowboarder Jackie Snarr.

The Beaver Valley Banked Slalom is truly one of the only events in Canada where you will find shred “legends” from park, pipe, boardercross and race riding together and alongside the best “groms” and industry icons.

_bv_banked_slalom_2016_jason_herbert_sj_lo

Where a shred legend will kick your ass riding a 20 year old retro board. And where staff from your local shop compete against staff from your local park.

Where the rider drinking a “Mad Jack” beer next to you on the deck at the afternoon apres might be the Team Manager of one of the biggest companies in snowboarding. Where kids compete against their dads and moms. Where the “ski” racks at the base lodge are 100% filled with snowboards!

Where there are more people riding Beaver Valley’s awesome park runs than it’s groomed trails. Where the afternoon bbq, beers and bands are more important than the awards ceremony!

LIVINGROOM Banked Slalom 2017

Peter Radacher and the LIVINGROOM Crew are excited to announce the 3rd edition of the LIVINGROOM Banked Slalom in partnership with Amplid.

Next Level Riding and Hochkeil resort. Postponed from an earlier date in January due to unseasonably dry weather, the event will now take place from Friday the 17th until Sunday the 19th of February at the Hochkeil, a small 100% natural snow resort which sits below the magnificent Hochkönig in Salzburgerland, Austria.

Peter Bauer_UNW8_photo Rich Ewbank

Yearly Peter and his keen team of shapers create a fun course from natural snow with crazy flow, which snakes its way around the Hochkeil’s varied terrain. With the event moving to February and after experiencing big snowfalls throughout January, the course is set to be the best to date. This grassroots event has attracted its fair share of snowboarding royalty over the years,  including Olympic gold medallist Nicola Thost and Austrian back-to-back Air & Style winner, Stefan Gimpl. Last year Jeff Brushie flew in from Stateside to join the event and this year 90ies hard-booting heartthrob Peter Bauer will be the guest of honour and of course contending for a spot on the winners’ podium. Hansjörg Unterrainer and Mario Fuchs, both Olympic boardercross athletes, will also be taking a lap of the WSF Banked Slalom Tour sanctioned course, hoping to add points to their tour tally. And there’s an enormous prize purse for the winners, with products from Deeluxe Boots, SP Gadgets, Horsefeathers, Out Of Goggles, Amplid::: Next Level Riding and Goodboards.

LivingRoom Banked Slalom Poster

The weekend isn’t just about racing. Amplid will be at the event, providing test boards free of charge on Saturday and Sunday. Evening entertainment is a chilled affair, a great opportunity
to catch-up with old friends and make new ones. On Saturday, retro snowboard movie Pachamama, featuring Jean Nerva and Amplid’s Peter Bauer, will be shown on the big screen and on Sunday collectors of shred antiques will come together after riding to show-off their vintage boards andperhaps even make a trade or two.

Registration in advance costs 20Eur for adults and 10Eur for children under 15yrs, the lift pass is extra. Registration on the day costs an additional 5Eur and is subject to space. Two day packages including half-board accommodation, a two-day lift pass and registration for the event are available from 169Eur for adults and less for children and youths.
